Pen Ward and James Kochalka

If you’re wondering why the posts around here have been light this week, Vermont’s Comic Laureate, James Kochalka, is in town. We’ve been making the rounds with the Johnny Boo creator, trying to get sold a top-secret animation project. James did have time, though, to pop by Cartoon Network yesterday to spend some time with Pen.

We’re really excited to be starting a movie with artist/musician James Kochalka, writer of tons of cool books and MP3s. So I decided to take a long detour on my way to speak at the MIT Media Lab and fly up to Burlington, Vermont where James lives with his family. We met over at Radio Bean and James brought along the awesome Oliver (who, in turn, brought his Wonder Pet Tuck).

Update: James did his comic blog about our visit the same day. I think he didn’t realize I was as nervous as he was. Then again, he did draw me blue.
