Doctor Dee and …Whatever?

Greetings, BitFans! Larry Huber here. Doctor Dee and his superhero sidekicks, BitBoy…and BitGirl, begin their daily blogging this week. “BLOG or DIE!” is the byword here at the Random Cartoon factory. This cartoon created by that insanely young and creative team of Jun Kyo Seo and Kong Yo Yang and aided by the insane and old Larry Huber hope to put the “funny” into Asian themed cartoons.
Much work has already been done on this “soon-to-be” classic cartoon (Blogging excluded), color models of the main characters are done, many background keys are complete and turn-arounds and mouth charts are progressing.
Our meeting on dialogue casting is scheduled for today. I’m insisting on all voice talent to be native-speaking Koreans. (Speaking English) Originally this cartoon was conceived of as being recorded in Korea with local actors but this option came with too much paper work so we’ll let the Korean-language version be done there. Coming soon will be an animatic with a “scratch” recording. Myself and anyone else I could muster did a quick recording as place-holders for the professional dialogue to follow. This allows us to get a “jump” on the timing of the show.
Also being considered is a name change. Doctor Dee and BitBoy was the original title of the cartoon but BitGirl has developed into a equal partner in the team and we want a name that truely reflects the show. How about DOCTOR DEE AND THE BITKIDS! “Doctor Dee and BitBoy and BitGirl” seems like overkill especially if we add other team members later on.
I think I’ve fulfilled my requirement for today so I’ll sign off. Next week (starting Monday) the Korean team will take over the blogging.
