When nature calls, musical genius arrives…

Brittney Lee filled us in on the backstory of her film: “Mozart McFiddle” is my senior thesis for the Film and Animation program at RIT. I had to finalize my idea last summer, so while I was home I spent a lot of time with my dog. He’s a very large golden retriever, and periodically he will walk over to our piano and drag his face over the keys to make some sound. I decided I had to use a dog playing the piano somewhere in my thesis, and it grew from there. The owner (Fred) was inspired by my high school concert choir accompanist, with the big difference being that he could actually play the piano. The rest of it sort of just fell into place, and “Mozart McFiddle” is the result.”

Great job Brittney! It’s at the top of my list of Channel Frederator favorites. Your animation is beautiful, I really like your design and line quality as well. Special thanks to Nancy Beaman? She used to teach at my alma mater (SCAD), though she left before I had gotten into animation courses.
