Channel Frederator Featured Film, Ep. 47: “Blinky”
Heads and scythes don’t mix. It’s that simple, really.
Aaron Berger had this to say about his ideas for “Blinky”: “I had been drawing cloaked stick figures for months in various situations, one had a briefcase, another had a cowboy hat, and my favourite had this giant scythe. I’ve always wanted to make a short movie and I had the characters so I needed a story. After a very late night of drinking Vodka sherbet smoothies me and my buddy Sean Branson devised the story. A month later the short was done. This is my first completed short, and it was an exercise in minimalism, characters that can only emote through body language and eye blinking turned into a very interesting exercise. Two years later I re-rendered it in a HD format as a proof of concept and decided to actually get feedback on it from the Internet.”
Thanks for the head rolling, Aaron!
