“Hillbilly Blue” written by Butch Hartman & Michael Ryan.
From a fan:
I have a question that has been haunting my friends and I for quite some time.
We have been scanning the internet, cartoon database, imdb, and all the P2P programs available to us looking for episodes/copies of the What a Cartoon! show.
Most importantly, we are looking for a volume/copy that would have the episode ‘Hillbilly Blue’ on it.
We are devoted.
We are huge fans.
We, most importantly, are willing to pay through the nose for it.
I would be honored by a response and humbled by any input.
Thank you for your time.
Our fan was writing because WAC! was the original shorts program in modern Hollywood cartoons, and I had come up with it during my time at Hanna-Barbera. Unfortunately, none of the What a Cartoon! non-series shorts are out on DVD or video. But, a quick search at YouTube turned this up.
Butch Hartman most of you know. Michael Ryan was a guy in the animation art department who wanted to write; and as is often the case in companies, since everyone wants to be “creative” such ambitions are often thwarted. Butch believed in Mike and Hillbilly Blue was the start of a very busy career.
Have a nice day.

Hey I remember Butch pitching this board to us! I don’t think I’ve seen this in 10 years!
