Dan Haskett

Dan Haskett, a veteran animator with three decades in the business, designed the character Belle for “Beauty and the Beast” and Ariel for “The Little Mermaid.” He won an Emmy for his work on “The Simpsons” and has credits for “Toy Story,” “The Prince of Egypt,” a well as for commercials and cartoons for “Sesame Street.”
He’s also one of the few African Americans in the higher realms of the animation biz. I recently found an interview with him…

I’ve always wanted to work with Dan, but somehow, even though we’ve met, I couldn’t crack the code. He’s fantastic. Thanks Jake.

I met Dan about a year ago, he’s good friends with my friend Eric and I even asked him to direct BRONK and BONGO. He had to pass because of so many other commitments. The man’s work is a true inspiration.

I have fond memories of Dan from Art & Design days. I’m glad he is doing exceptional well. Sorry we lost touch.
