“What Now: Sparkle Friends”, by Mukpuddy: A Channel Frederator Featured Film
Episode 56
Brought to you by Mukpuddy, ‘What Now Sparkle Friends’ follows the adventures of Richie, Charlie, Serena, Tamati, their pet Gorilla Camilla and their new found friend Gun-Gi, a curious little “gunge-spewing” creature from Japan which they order off TV. It’s the first 2D Flash animated cartoon to be made entirely in New Zealand and the first locally made cartoon to appear on What Now (a New Zealand childrens variety show) in its 25 year history.
Mukpuddy has been featured on Channel Frederator in the past with their music video, “Baby Cruel”.
Says Ryan of Mukpuddy, “Basically, we pitched the idea to the TV Show “What Now” and then added our character Gun-gi who provided a back story/origin for Gunge a gak/slime type substance they’ve used on What Now for years. We thought it would be cool if that “gunge” could turn ordinary things extraordinary. The other characters in the cartoon are actually the presenters/hosts of “What Now” in kid form.
Hope all that makes sense.
We were never really sure if the show would make sense to folks in other countries (due to some crazy Kiwi slang/sayings). Should be interesting to see what people think.”
We think it’s teeeriffic. Thanks again Muks!

Sparkle Friends is possibly one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time (I am a lil biased though)
