CG Muppets on Sesame Street

January 21st, 2007

This clip of Sesame Street features the Twiddlebug family of four that lived in Ernie’s window box in puppet form for decades now; yet presented here for the first time as CGI Muppets, slightly altered, along with a computer generated recreation of their small environment.

Featured are Ernie (still in puppet form) and computer generated Thomas, Tessie, Timmy, and Tina Twiddlebug.

A part of episode 4125, the clip first aired during Sesame Street’s 37th season on September 18, 2006 on PBS channels throughout the US.

So, if you want to catch up with what’s new in the neighborhood of your childhood, tune in to Sesame Street on PBS or PBS Sprout!

If it aint broke don’t fix it. I’m all for brand new characters and segments on Sesame Street being CG, but dont ruin the classic characters. CG didn’t add anything to that skit, if anything it lost a little life along the way. Are we alone in thinking this?

I agree. I liked the twiddlebugs as muppets. How long before the rest of the crew are replaced by CG? Maybe this is a test for things to come?
