I don't think in this particular case it's the timing or animation that is enthralling us all but rather the idea of all of these different characters from different genre's and mediums congregating for an all out battle. It's fun to try and spot characters you might not have seen before, the song is catchy and everyone is hoping to find out the answer to the age old question "Who is stronger? Shaq or Aaron Carter? Who's faster? Batman or Abraham Lincoln?" The rudimentary animation is almost charming and completely acceptable when you stop to think "Where would I ever see Chuck Norris kick Indiana Jones in the crotch?"
