The Annie Awards - 100% accurate Oscar predictions since 2001
Like the post title says, the Annies are a great barometer of who is going to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. The winner of the Annie for Best Animated Feature has gone on to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature every year since the catergory was created at the Oscars in 2001.
This year that could change. With only three films nominated by the Academy (”Cars”, “Happy Feet”, and “Monster House”), there are two extra films in the running for Annies (”Open Season” and “Over the Hedge”).
If one of these two “extra” films win, what will happen? Perhaps it will help get the Academy to consider changing their rules for qualifications for the Best Animated Feature category? We’ll have to wait and see what happens, and if the prediction streak continues.

In relation to animated features getting awards, Happy Feet won the best animated feature Bafta last night, beating Cars and Flushed Away.
As for the Oscar: it’s bound to be Cars unless the Academy decides that Pixar have enough Oscars already.
