William Joyce wrote the book that inspired the Disney film, and acted as executive producer on the film, revising the story and submitting art.

Joyce has been writing and illustrating childrens’ books since he graduated school. It was his book “Dinosaur Bob” that got the attention of John Lasseter in 1988, who hired Joyce to do concept art for Toy Story.

When looking at the trailers, I can’t help but miss the simple 1930’s era charm of Joyce original works.

I am a huge William Joyce fan. One of my dreams is to do a musical version of his fantastic christmas book, ‘Santa Calls.’
