Historian Michael Barrier

Animation historian Michael Barrier is perhaps most recognizable as the deep-voiced commentor on the Looney Tunes Golden Volumes, bringing insights and factoids to cartoons as far back as the 1930’s.

I stumbled upon Barrier’s website when searching for the possibility of scant info on a couple deceased animation legeneds… and I discovered Barrier’s in-depth interviews with Art Babbitt, Hugh Harmon, Joe Grant and others. There’s a candid quality in Barrier’s interviews and comments that is not wholly common, and one gets the feeling that the decendents of those interviewed might object to some of his forthright op-eds. In the case of Art Babbitt, for instance, that’s entirely the case.

Visit the interviews on MichaelBarrier.com.

Enjoy!
