Melissa Wolfe Interviewed Tasha about Bad Dad:

CH.FRED 1. How did you come up with the idea for this film?
TH: I created the Poem for a feature film I wrote. One of the young people in the film writes the poem. I heard about a small poetry film festival called Don’t Feed the Poets based in Hastings a small sea side town in the UK and decided to make an animation to the poem for it

2 How long did it take you to animate this?
Within10 weeks in my own time at home

3. What do you do when you get stuck creatively?
Go crazy, get out my home try and find something else to do and it just comes back suddenly while I am driving, sat on the tube or something like that. I find it only happens if I forced to stop working for a while due to a move of house or some disruption like that.

4. What was the most challenging part of the short to animate?
The whole thing was a challenge as I had never animated before or had any training. I didn’t have any proper equipment so I was drawing the pictures frame by frame on a glass coffee table with a lamp underneath it scanning them in to the computer and importing them in to Premiere as tiffs I didn’t really know how it was going to come out till it was on the time line so it was a bit of an experiment for me. I had not read any books on how to animate or any thing so I think all the movement was hard to work out as it was something I’d never thought about before.

5. What are you working on now?
I am making a music promo for an artist called Queer Junglists

6. Who are some of your influences?
I think I my biggest influence is my environment the people and events around me

7. Who does the voice of the kid? He is cute!
