This piece was done by PDI in their “pre Dreamworks” days. It is widely regarded in the 3D industry to be the first bit of CG to use realistic surfaces on a model that moves according to the rules of traditional animation (squash and stretch). This piece was done in the late 80’s I think (maybe ‘88 or ‘89). It wasn’t until PDI did 3D Homer (maybe ‘95 or ‘96) tat the company really took off as a character animation studio.
