This piece has recently appeared on BET and has sparked a bit of a controversy. The video is by recording artist Bomani “D’Mite” Ahmer and the recently formed BET animation department, headed by Denys Cowan.
On an animation level, the piece is great. The controversy comes from the message and the way it is put across. The piece features a rapper who urges his audience to “read a book,” “buy land” and “brush your teeth.” There is no question as to what the artist thinks after watching the video. I hope to have an interview with Bomani Ahmer in a future post.

hehe wasnt this on CHF acouple weeks ago? I’ll just give my opinion about the animation and design…amazing.
