Happy 50th Anniversary, Hanna-Barbera
It’d be bad form if we let this day slip by without a tip of the hat to Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. Their studio’s first TV show, Ruff and Reddy, premiered fifty years ago today, December 14, 1957. The only R&R episodes I remember seeing are the munimula ones, so it sure would be a kick to watch some others. Some day. Sheesh, if I had a dime for every cartoon I’ve watched from that studio…. In any event, thanks, Bill & Joe.

Happy anniversary! I’m reminded of the interview I saw with Joe Barbera, where he talks about the pranks the two would play on one another. The one that sticks out in my mind is where one guy would cover up the other guy’s name, or turn the lights out on that half of the sign. Great stuff.

Hail to thee oh, H & B! I’ve been addicted to Huckleberry Hound lately. They didn’t air ‘em when I was little!
