What is Christmas all about?
A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) is the first of many prime-time animated TV specials based upon the popular comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. It was produced and directed by former Warner Bros. and UPA animator Bill Melendez. It is also the first special in which Melendez voices Snoopy. Initially sponsored by Coca-Cola, the special aired on CBS from its debut in 1965 through 1999, and has aired on ABC since 2000.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

I’ve heard that the original version contained Coca-Cola endorsements in the special, but have never been shown since the special originally aired.
I wonder what they were like…..
Merry Christmas, ya’ll!

I couldn’t wait for this show to air, and in those years before VCR’s, I stuck a microphone up to the television and at least recorded the sound on quarter-inch tape so I could listen to it over and over again.
From what I remember, the references to Coca-Cola were right after the main title card - it said something like “brought to you by Coca-Cola or the like. There weren’t like, product placements within the show. I think there may have been visual reference to Coke at the end, too. It wasn’t unusual at the time.
