Pasha E & Masha and Bears!
Russian animator/director Pasha Egorov created the music video for “Parabellum” by Russian pop group Masha i Medvedi (Masha and Bears). Here he tells us how an accidental fire turned into a work of art.
CF: How did you develop the concept for this film?
PE: The concept has arisen from love of the city of Sankt-Petersburg and bicycles.
The first desire was to spend time in the company of bicyclists (in Moscow there is a club of fans of exotic bicycles, Rastabike) on the coast of Neva in the fine city Sankt-Petersburg. Quickly and cheerfully [I wanted] to make a videoclip about that as we [rode] on the central streets of the northern capital of Russia. But during the trip [there was] a fire at the hotel. The cartridges and a video camera had burned up. Having returned to Moscow, I decided to [photograph the bicyclists], and as a background [inserted] photos of houses from Sankt-Petersburg.
CF: Are you working on any new projects you can tell us about?
PE: Yes! Soon will appear new video - watch for updates on my page - http://www.youtube.com/Egorov.
Thank you, Pasha!
