New Show! FredBits: Toons in one minute or less!

April 21st, 2010

I’m not going to lie to you guys. After Dan Meth concluded his run on Meth Minute and Nite Fight for Channel Frederator there’s been a void. And we’ve been looking for someone to fill that void recently… Someone to give a weekly animated show to.

Our search continues and we have some great prospects, but until we find that special person…I wanted to introduce you to a new show on Channel Frederator: Fredbits.

Fredbits is cartoons. One minute or less. No bologna. Just toonage.

New episodes premiere every Wednesday. In order to make room for it, our main show is being bumped to Monday and Cartoon Hangover still ends our week on Friday.

And hey, if you have a cartoon that’s one minute or less, send it our way by uploading to: Be sure to mention “Fredbits” in the title somewhere.

My goal with Fredbits and with all of the shows here on [Read more…]

Adventure Time Video Special this Wednesday!

March 29th, 2010

I was recently allowed to see the first couple episodes of Adventure Time, the new cartoon series premiering on Cartoon Network April 5th. I was a huge fan of the original short film and I was worried…worried that it might not translate into a television series.

After viewing the first couple episodes in a high security vault. I emerged from Cartoon Network’s headquarters elated. Folks: the show is absolutely amazing. In fact, if Adventure Time doesn’t become the new Spongebob Squarepants I’d be really shocked. It’s that good.

So, imagine my geek-out levels when I was told I could interview creator Pen Ward for an exclusive Adventure Time special for…we also secured exclusive never-before-seen footage from the upcoming show.

Did things just get a little TOO mathematical up in here?

Subscribe to our youtube page now and be the first to see it premiere this Wednesday, March 31st!

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Channel Frederator

February 9th, 2010

My name is Bobby Miller. I’m the jerk running right now. I just wanted to let you know that WE GOT A GREAT MONTH OF ANIMATION IN STORE FOR YOU!

(sorry about the caps there.)

First off, this week is Valentine’s week here at Channel Frederator. If you’re anything like me, Valentine’s Day is a great day to remember how bone-crunchingly alone you are. I don’t know about you, but I could use a dose of some toons.

Today we’re showcasing Daisy Edwards’ beautiful little film, “Without Thunder”. You may have seen her work with Isabella Roselini’s Sundance Channel series “Green Porno”. Oh, and watch it with headphones, as Daisy makes excellent use of STERO SOUNDDDD. You can check it out BY CLICKING HERE!

On Friday, February 12th we’re bringing you another Valentine’s Day toon that will…well…you just have to see it.

Outside of our Valentine’s Day flavored programming, we have a bunch of other [Read more…]

Channel Frederator: A Change is Gonna Come

September 15th, 2009

Channel The world’s original cartoon podcast is turning 4 years old in November and to celebrate we’re giving out cash. You heard right.Starting on October 6th, we’re switching to a one cartoon format and giving every animator $50 to let us show their short. At the end of every month, the animator with the most online views in their debut week wins $200.   As usual, the deal is non-exclusive. You still own the rights to your short, we just want to share it with the world. Oh, and did we mention it’ll be shown on the world’s original cartoon podcast network? (Seriously. Wikipedia it.)But, wait there’s more!In November, we’re launching a new series called “Cartoon Hangover”. A show dedicated to bringing you the craziest animations on the web.   Animators: No longer do you have to censor your most insane (and R-rated) ideas. You now have a venue for [Read more…]

Time marches on…

July 29th, 2009

I’m the worst animator in this picture.

As of today, I won’t be blogging for Frederator anymore. It has been a great run, and I thank Fred Seibert and Eric Homan for having me blog for so long.

I started blogging for Fred a few years back (2006?) when Fred asked me to write as a regular on the blog after doing some posts for the 6 Monsters production blog. During my run here, my life has changed a lot. I’ve moved (a few times), added another kid to my family, and changed jobs more times than I care to remember. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging.

On the blog, I’ve tried to highlight things I thought were important and things that were interesting in the world of animation and entertainment, sometimes causing a stir. I also tried to pass along some knowledge of animation as it was passed to me. I got to [Read more…]

Comic Con: Too big, not big enough, or just right?

July 22nd, 2009

With Comic Con 2009 about to start, one of the big local stories here in San Diego is talk of expanding the convention center to hold even more people than it currently can. The convention started out as a couple of card tables and true comic book enthusiasts, but has ballooned to include movies, television, and video game exhibitors in addition to a ton of stuff for sale.

With an estimated 125,000 attendees this year, do you think Comic Con is too big, not big enough, or just right?

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet: A Game From the Mind of Michel Gagné

July 18th, 2009

This is the extended trailer for the upcoming Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet game by Michel Gagné.  You have probably seen his work before, in films such as The Iron Giant, Osmosis Jones, Ratatouille, and many others.

This game, in the same classic side scrolling shooter vein as Defender or Gradius, looks to bring every ounce of Michel Gagné’s signature art style to the genre. It is a marriage that looks beautiful.
