Oh! Super Milk Chan

January 5th, 2007

super_milk-chan_show_1-1.jpg

I’m a little loss for words on this show. It’s called Super Milk Chan, and it’s a Japanese cartoon about a girl who is charged by the President of everything to save the world. The only thing is that she doesn’t have any real powers besides cursing and making obscure references. You can check out the show on adult swim.

Cute 80s Show Openings

January 4th, 2007

You could debate forever on the good and bad of 80s animation, but the one thing 80s animation was good at (besides product marketing) was show openings. Cute and fun, there was always a catchy theme song that most of us will be able to sing long into Alzheimer’s.

Lou Brooks’ Retro Looks

Brilliant illustrator-cum-comicker Lou Brooks has given many young artists something to aspire to. Even if the name isn’t familiar, the work should be. Check him out! I really like his “My Garden of Tongue-Listing Twimericks” piece in Fantagraphics’ BLAB (17).

Nabaztag

January 2nd, 2007

Just as Christmas is over I find something really cool I’d like to have. Its Nabaztag! An ultra cute robot bunny that’s connected to the internet. Program him to wake up to your favorite song then tell you news and the weather. You can also program him to read out your favorite blog everyday (like a certain Frederator blog). He also does tai chi with his ears. Check them out here.

For those of you who haven’t heard about the 30-Second Bunnies Theatre, it is a Flash cartoon series featuring films re-enacted by bunnies in 30 seconds. The series was created by Jennifer Shiman and is produced by Angry Alien Productions. Check it out and see if your favorite movie is on there!
