Fanlair Rendered

August 6th, 2009

Fanlair Upstairs

In the next stage in the process of creating Fanboy and Chum Chum’s Fanlair, Caesar Martinez’s designs (click here to see them) are handed over to the CG folks downstairs. Supervising Producer Jason Meier says:

“The Fanlair was modeled by Sergio Lorenzo. Textured by George Taylor and Kaz Arizona. Lighting was done by Tobias White. The Fanlair was created all in Maya and has over two gigs of textures and takes about 6-8 minutes to render. The Fanlair also gets a seperate Ambient Occlusion pass to add depth shadows which gives it its depth and rich look.”

Thanks, Jason.

FanLair Concept

Coonfoot has asked to see some art of the Fanlair, home to Fanboy and Chum Chum. We’ll start off by showing five drawings by the exceptionally talented Caesar Martinez. From above to bottom, that’s Caesar’s concept, interior views two and three, a size comparison with Fanboy (using interior view #1), and an overhead map. As always, you can click through to the Flickr page for different sizes. More images to follow.
