Happy New Year Fred and Everyone:
My thoughts on the new name thing is this. Frederator has built on the "Oh Yeah!" name branding since 1998. The branding and marketing of the "Oh Yeah!" name has a certain amount of value and investment.
My angle is to build on the seven year platform made already.
This thought comes from my prior advertising experience.
Fred; I know the naming task has been left to the network. This is OK but if they do the "formerly known as "Oh Yeah!" cartoon thing, it doesn't make sense because they're still banking on previous recognition, branding and marketing done.
They would have to treat it as a brand new enterprise. Never seen before! NOT "new and improved beacause "Oh Yeah!" Cartoons are always good!
Pop singer Prince did this when he changed his name to the symbol. They always said, "Formerly known as Prince." Then he wnt back to calling himself Prince again. This kind of thing always happens.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth.
Thanks, Fred and we'll talk soon!
Your Cartoon Pal....
Jeff

And I don't suppose that we might know what made the "top picks" list? Hm? You know, just for the sake of conversation and stuff. :)

In the immortal words of Gary Busey, "I don' work on January the Eighth, 'cause it's Elvis' birthday." It's my birthday too, not to mention that I'm repitching Fly Guy on the fifth... so that would be a nice present. :)

Hans, Everyone in our group (about six people) selected their top picks and those are the ones we discussed with "the network" (oooh, shudder).

I was curious if you had narrowed a list to send to the networks, or if you just sent them 40 pages of new names.

Either way, I guess they can take as long as they want... They are the network after all.

The winter season starts tomorrow.
So, Happy Winter.
