Miles gets it.

Jeaux Janovsky interviews Miles Thompson on the Channel Frederator Blog earlier today. Miles inadvertently speaks to the point made in my last post and the itch that David Levy and Amid Amidi scratched last week:
“…desktop publishing reached a point years ago where it no longer permits any excuses for not finishing a 7 minute cartoon generated by ONE person at home alone…”
I know it seems like I’m destroying Frederator Studios, but I couldn’t agree more.
(Thanks Miles, thanks Jeaux. Here’s the rest….)

thanks for everything Fred - you really do have a dream job and i imagine at times it must feel like a hard thing to do as so many folks are interested in working with you in animation today - you are basically Willy Wonka and only a select few can see what goes on - i look forward to our next collaboration in the professional world of cartoon making
also - i am so glad to see you up and about after your surgery - i can’t imagine how frustrated i would have been were i in your shoes - again, so glad to see you upright and smiling the other day at Nick!
incidentally, i tried posting a response to the cartoon brew “pitch or not to pitch” topic that wasn’t posted. i had to say something about that post being that i worked on ‘Bozzlebag’s Zip’ with Dave Smith - this from Amid’s email -
“The run-on sentences and lack of capitalization make it a bit difficult to read. Still, the content of what you’re saying is very valid and I respect it though I don’t necessarily agree with all of it.” - perhaps that’s why it didn’t get posted??? in his defense Amid did offer to link it to my blog should i opt to post my response to this topic there - c’est la vie!

Miles - With all due respect, I already explained why I didn’t post it and it has nothing to do with the content of what you wrote. You sent over a 2300+ word “essay” that had no capitalization and lacked proper sentence/paragraph structure. For the record, one of your “sentences” has 180+ words in it. That type of casual writing is cool if it’s just a quick opinion, but at your length, most people will become frustrated quickly if they tried to read it.
I thought there were good points in there mixed in with the rambling thoughts which is why I suggested posting it on your own blog. That way I could link to it and people who want to wade through the run-on sentences and uncapitalized thoughts could do so at their leisure. To suggest that I didn’t post your email though because of the content of what you wrote is really uncalled for.

Amid - this belongs on YOUR blog, not on Fred’s - sorry Freddy
