Paul Corio.
Illustrator Paul Corio did some great work for my agency Fred/Alan in the early 90s and we hadn’t caught up in years when he came by a couple weeks ago. He showed me a book (written with Paul Abruzzo) of a character he created called How Stubborn Stinky Got His Name.
Along the way we discovered we had a lot more in common than his great illustrations; a lot of close friends, a love of jazz (Paul’s not only a drummer but operated his own record label). And I shouldn’t forget about his great abstract paintings.
And when he left, Paul left me some of his work in a personalized pig envelope. Thanks guy, good to see you. ![]()

I CHECKED OUT SOME OF PAUL’S WORK AND IT’S REAL COOOOOL!
HE HAS A WONDERFULLY, STYLIZED NY COMMERCIAL LOOK TO HIS WORK. I LIKE IT A LOT. REAL ENTERTAINING TO LOOK AT.
THANKS AND ALL THE BEST PAUL!
LOOK FORWARD IN SEEING MORE.
