Well, I did a pass over the previous “girls” design I had posted a while back…Mr. Levinson will be happy to see that the designs are more “9th grade ready”…
Since auditions are tomorrow, I also whipped up some design ideas for a couple of the other key players in this particular episode of “GOG”. Enjoy!

Revisions Galore!

April 6th, 2006

I thought I would share the revision to the storyboard page, from an earlier post of mine (see previous version here.)
In this new version, we get to see the shot from Kat’s point of view and focus on Tess’s expression, until the final shot were we see the both of them together. My older vesion also had a “jump cut”, meaning, the panel before was too similar to the one coming next (not pictured), so it would have caused the camera to look like it “jumps.” My director, Randy Myers pointed this out to me..so now, not only do I get rid of the “jump cut”, but I also have a more interesting camera shot.

I think my favorite thing about working on these cartoons is how much I get to learn from my directors. THANK YOU RANDY! (and Jun, who directed my other show, “Yaki and Yumi.

I am currently blowing through my storyboard, addressing notes, and making revisions…and here, on the floor, lays a pile of drawings that were either cut/not working/or not necessary anymore…
Rest in peace dear drawings, rest in peace.

NUMMY CUPCAKES!

Jun and I just returned from an adventure to “Yummy Cupcakes”..mmmmm…..As soon as I took a bite of my cupcake, I burst out into a “Yummy Cupcake Dance”. What does this have to do with “Girls On the GO!??”…..nothing….but sugar makes a creator draw extra special drawings (and filling out insurance paperwork more tolerable)….

Bored?? No way, just Board.

I am the boarding boogie queen right now!
My awesome director, Randy Myers, has given me some pointers on how to clarify the story points, and streamline some areas that needed it. Soon I will repitch to the “random” team, and the casting process will be underway!

In other news…I was in a major car accident last Friday…our freeways in L.A. can be pretty crazy, esp. when there is construction going on. I managed to fly right into a girl who stopped suddenly to avoid an accident herself. Everyone is okay, except my Jetta, (R.I.P.) Now I need to find a new car (while I’m not wedding planning, or making a cartoon..oy vey!!)
Ah..never a dull momment.
Be careful out there!!!

Greetings kartoon luvas!
I am so happy to be back at Nickelodeon working with the Frederator team on short #2! I feel so fortunate to get to have this experience again, and want to thank everyone for bringing me back!
“Girls On the GO!” was originally a show about a group of girls in their first year of college. I had always had a dream to do a show about girl characters, that wasn’t either about dolls and fluff, or girl characters that are really just boys that look like girls…characters that are true to how we really are. Though the show idea always had a great response anywhere it was pitched, in the end it was always decided that it would be tough to find an audience for this age group. At one point, I had gotten a call from a major studio, letting me know that they wanted to go [Read more…]
