These are the rough title cards for Krunch & the Kid which, I might add, is looking awesome with the amazing music being added to it this week. With the addition of retakes, music and sound effects, Krunch & the Kid is approaching a beautiful place. ALL PRAISE POST PRODUCTION!!!

I think I was born to be a director because I love sitting in an editing bay and making something look great through the magic of editing. A little snip here, a few frames there and voila! You have a great cartoon! What a rush! This morning I got my retakes back from Korea cut into my picture and edited it to it’s exact length. Thanks to Larry and Molly and Justin for their help. It looks awesome and there’s not even any music or sound effects yet!

Above is one of my favorite color images for Krunch and the Kid which just shipped to Korea a few weeks ago. Wouldn’t you want to have your boo boo covered by this bandaid? So now I move on to my second show, Tiffany.

Tiffany is a curly haired doll who lives in the imagination of Peggy, an 8 year old girl, who is a little shy and timid and needs her alter ego, Tiffany, to push her into adventure and fun. It’s just that sometimes, Tiffany pushes a bit too hard.

Above is a CD of my rough mix of voices for Krunch&the Kid. It was great fun. I got to sit for a few hours with an editor (Thanks Mike Petak!) and pick all the versions of the voice recordings that I thought worked best. And then Mike made this cool label for it that I want to frame! He’s a label master!

When I’m not marveling at my cool labels I’ve been slugging my board for track reading. Above is a slugged board for those of you in the know. For those of you not in the know, a slugged board is all about figuring out the correct timing for your show. How much time on this panel, how much time on that panel, how long for that action, how much time between lines of dialogue, etc. It can be a real mind bender at times. So long.

Above is an original BG for the set on Wham!Bam!Pow! Action Hour! where Krunch and the Kid do their daily show. I thought it needed a little more and also to look less theatrical. Sooo….

Above is my revision. I went online and found some cool pictures of TV soundstages and went from there. I sure hope it looks better to all of you out there in blogland!

I’m also mixing my voices today. Putting them all together on one track. Fun, fun, fun!

The original BG above was the only one I found needed a little push. It seemed a bit dull. Soooooo

This is the new BG with my corrections. I went online and found some pictures of soundstages and tried to make it feel more like a TV soundstage. I hope you agree that it’s better!
