There was a blank office.

And a really good view of the dumpster behind the 7-eleven.

Hello, my name is Jun, and welcome to my Blog. It’s really the first Blog I have ever Blogged. I have created a couple of websites, mind you, so no stranger to the mighty world-wideness of the web am I, but as to Blogs - this would be el numero uno. Yep.

Now, to just hand something as powerful as a Blog to a writer like me - well, that’s just like bringing a 4 year old with ADD to a mall. I’m bound to wander off when you least expect it. But I will try to stick to the subject at hand, at least most of the time - my cartoon. And the fine people here at Frederator and Nickelodeon. No, make that the awesome people.

A little about me for those not in the know: first of all, I’ve been seen wandering these halls before, helping Aliki with her wonderful cartoon Yaki and Yumi. Although I managed to scrounge up a director credit for that, it’s really Aliki’s vision and characters that are in the film and that’s the way it should be. (As a side note, we’re to be office-roomates as soon as she starts her second short later this month. Grats, Aliki!)

I’ve been in this industry for the past 14 years, and a director for about 10 of them - my first directing job was at the late Hanna-Barbera, where I met the infamous Larry Huber and Fred Seibert. At that time, they were accepting pitches for - you guessed it - the very first series of cartoon shorts, “What a Cartoon”. I pitched two - but for various reasons neither worked out. Still, I was around working on another project so I was able to watch the whole thing take shape - it was a really fun time.

After my project ended, I went on to have many good and evil experiences at other studios like Warner Brothers, Disney, Dreamworks, and Universal - but the charm of my Hanna Barbera days remained in memory. After all, I was young. I was optimistic. They gave me a chance to direct. But not only that - it was the atmosphere that Fred brought to the studio - he was giving young artists a chance to explore, experiment - and that encouragement really brought out the best in people.

In time, the wheel spins round and our paths cross again, and I’m happy to see Fred and Larry still bringing that same level of artistic encouragement to this latest cartoon series and its creators. Believe you me, this is rare in the world of film executives, and a thing to be praised and cherished. I’m glad to once again be a part of this series, and this time I’m not obligated to merely watch from across the hall - I actually get to create one!

So here I am. And the office is blank. But only for the moment.

It’s great to have you back, Jun. For the record, there was virtually no discussion as to whether or not we should pick up “K&R” except to ask the rehetorical question, “How can we not do this?”

Yikes, now the pressure’s on! =D

Welcome Jun! Sorry we didn’t finish our Ukulele discussion the other day. We will!

Jun, Congrats…and when and if you get stuck…you can always amuse yourself at http://www.chucknorrisfacts.com

Hope to see you soon!

Yuppeeee!
I am so happy to see you have a project you love because you are so alive! You know what I mean?

Love, Mom

Congrats and welcome, Jun! :)

Hi Jun! And welcome aboard as a Creator this time! Like you, Brian and I first met Larry & Fred back during the “What A Cartoon” Series days at HB. We made O’RATZ then, and it was our first experience producing with a Hollywood studio. It turned out great, and here we are back at it again! We’re anxious to see what KYLE + ROSEMARY is all about. Your work on YAKI & YUMI was terrific! Congratulations!

I already posted on your welcome blog, but I just have to say it again..I am a huge fan of yours and think you are just an all around awesome woman. You inspired me way back when in those Hanna-Barbera days when I was a lowly intern, and you still inspire me. I am so excited that you are doing your own short, and am selfishly just sorry that I can’t have you direct my next one, since you kick complete butt! Thank you for helping me bring my vision to light, and “getting” it. I am looking forward to being your officemate! Though I think we will be sitting dangerously close to the muffins!!

Hip Hip Hooray… welcome back to Burbank. ;-)

Looking forward to seeing what begins to hang on those not-long-to-be-blank walls…

hi jun. that was a really nice blog.

Gratz Jun and very happy for you. Enjoyed your reading your blog.

I love the self-portrait and funny office pics. I can’t wait to see what your imagination comes with for Kyle and Rosemary!
Congrats on getting a green light to go forward… and GOOD LUCK!

Congrats, Jun. Nothing but the best for you and your collaborators. I have nothing but the highest regards for your talent and abilities. You go…

Right now I’m suffering from a virus that Satan himself brewed in his underground lab in Hades. I’ve never had such a bad sore throat in all my life! Hi aliki! Anyway, I’m glad you are finally creating exciting cartoons again instead of just virtual tables and chairs in the world of EQ. Now all you gotta do is work Waste of Aces into the damn soundtrack somehow. Frankly, I’m tired of hearing sudo-rock-guitar bands opening cartoons. It just plain sucks! Anyway, good luck (though you won’t need it cause you got the mad skillz). Hi aliki! Anyway, I better go gargle salt water to quench the fires of hell in my throat. Talk soon.

Hey, Aliki - Jeff says hi. =P

Hey Jun… can’t wait to see your short!

hi. Im alex. Im a student of Hiroko’s. David Lineck is my dad. :P Nice dumpster.

Looking forward to more posts from a Hollywood insider! May the creative winds be with you.

Hey - a blog I actually cared about reading! Weird!

I found you through Wil’s blog too. I’ve only read your K&R blogs so far but I think I’ll be back to read more. From the little I’ve read about you now, I’m really happy about your coming full circle after a really crummy year and landing this show. You gave me a little hope today. I like your drawings, and your writing style, and I wish you all the best with K&R and any other current and future projects. You seem really neat :) Congratulations!

I found you through Wils blog. I just wanted to say great job on the cartoon so far, I can’t wait to see it =) I’m 27 and I probably watch far too many cartoons and do a little gaming myself so I think it would be neat to see that aspect in a show.

Great blog so far, keep up the good work, and thanks for letting us have a peek~

Hi Jun, it’s Denise Lineck. You’ve just always been so talented! Great blog.
