Yes, delinquent blogging is my speciality
So, It’s been a little while since my last entry, I noticed with dread as I checked the Random Cartoon blogs page. I’ve been having some computer issues as of late, not to mention that I’ve had to get a full time job. Yes, we’d like you (yes, you!) to believe that we can survive by working on our own fun cartoons full time but - alas - the bills…they stack…
First off I’d like to show off some BG’s. I don’t think I’ve ever posted any BG’s. Here’s a bit from Kyle and Rosemary’s school…
…and a bit from a tavern. WHAT? You say, these don’t look stylistically the same??? Well they’re not! And yet, they are! Why the difference? Well, you’ll have to be patient, young grasshopper.
The other great news is that the show has finally shipped….yes, finally. I am a bit behind my peers, it’s true. Especially that Flavio character, man, is that goat fast! In any case it’s shipped to my kind friends at Synergy Animation and I’ll post bits of exciting things as they emerge from distant Shanghai, China….
As for my new job, well, I was helping out on this indie feature piece of awesomeness for a while and now I’ve run over to here which, being near Nickelodeon, is rather convenient!
Peace out!
Update: Oop, credits are needed here - Steve Lewis did layout, and Alan Bodner and Ruben Chavez painted and also created intricate texture work for the fantasy sections… they did an amazing job.

The bgs look great Jun! I actually like that your film has more than one style. It’s kinda like being able to have an ice cream bar with two flavors!

Hey BTW, what did you do on 9? Are you helping with the development for the feature? I remeber seeing that film about 2 yrears ago and thinking, “wow now THAT’S a unique film!” So cool!

Just helping them with the story reel, is all. Yes, it’s a really really unique film - no major studio would ever greenlight a film like this (in this country) so I really hope it does well, and perhaps some visionary studio execs will take chances on different kinds of films like this in the future.

I like the fact that you split the “real world” and the online game apart stylistically. It’s a great touch that I think reinforces your characters own lives. Kyle will fit in his background (OK…At least as well as ANYONE that age ever feels he fits in) and Sir Horace will fit in his, and your viewer knows where the line between the two is. Very Cool.

Oh, it gets even cooler than that…more info to come.
