Hey! Where’s your hall pass?

August 7th, 2006

So here’s a goal image J Chad did with Buck to show everyone on the crew what we’d like the final to look like. We’re getting close to this with the 3D elements. We should have more to show soon.

As always, let us know what you think.

Boards ready to go…

July 28th, 2006

reboard.jpg

With only one minor adjustment, our boards are now ready to go through the process that will take them to tv screens as living animation. It’s our hope to be able to translate the poses and staging that J Chad did with his pencil, into our finished animated 3D characters. Keep watching this space to see how we’re doing!

Buck speaks some more

July 26th, 2006

So HERE is some more animation for Buck. It’s actually the rest of the sound clip I posted yesterday animated the rest of the way through.

Tests like these help us put the rig through it’s paces before we get into production with it.

Buck Speaks!

Well, we’re fine tuning the rigs for Buck and Gailard. Here’s an audio test we did to see how the animation rig would behave.

Enjoy!

Let us know what you think!

Executive pitch.

July 17th, 2006

Today was a confusing pitch for all. Alan Goodman and I (Fred) were the pitchers.

Six Monsters is a show that Alan and I have developed. For each of the sketches that will make up the short we’ve brought in

Welcome, Don Dougherty

June 21st, 2006

To re-cap, Random!’s Six Monsters cartoon gives half a dozen different filmmaker a stab at giving their takes on the same characters.

One of the filmmakers working on the short is Don Dougherty. Don’s tackling the running gag part of Six Monsters: three thirty-second bits featuring Buck and Roy.

Don’s been around the animation block with gigs at Disney Feature Animation as well as their TV arm, Universal, and Hanna-Barbera. He’s also a cartoonist who’s work has appeared in dozens of magazines, ranging from Good Housekeeping to Saturday Evening Post. Finally, he’s even got several books out.

My favorite credit of Don’s? Tex Avery hired him as a gag man.

Welcome aboard, Don.

Bloggin like a boglin

June 8th, 2006

bogdrool.jpg

So with blogs being all the rage, we decided to start a studio blog of our own. You can read it here

For those that don’t know, Boglins were cool puppets that were around in the 80’s. They’re not quite a Gremlin, and note quite a Critter.

Roy Meets World

June 5th, 2006

dan_monsters_sb.jpg

Here’s a panel from my Six Monsters storyboard. If you listen closely you can hear Roy singing an original song about sandwiches. Believe it or not, during a recent LA-NY conference call we debated what type of sandwhich is funnier: roast beef or pastrami. I love the cartoon business.
By the way, what kind of sandwhich do you think is the funniest?

Conference call today

June 1st, 2006

conferencecall.jpg

Hey everyone, there’s a conference call today for “Six Monsters”. This image was drawn by J Chad Erekson. This is how we picture the other end of the phone during the call. Buck, Gailard, and the rest don’t usually say too much during the calls, but I’m sure they are paying attention!
