What would you like to hear?
I had to come up with a tagline today summing up the cartoon in two sentences.
“MooBeard: The Cow Pirate- MooBeard and Sailor Bird search for the treasure of Hookamookapookalapp. Will their greatest obstacle be Dark Blade the ninja ducky, or the poorly-drawn map?”
I’m spending most of my time right now redrawing my storyboard, trying to improve shots and add more acting and stronger artwork. Since that’s what’s happening on a daily basis now, I’m not entirely sure what to blog about. What do you folks want to hear about? If there’s a subject you’d like me to talk about, now’s a great time to suggest it!

Thats a great tagline, a funny one. Maybe talk about developing characters design. Just a thought

That’s a good idea. Thanks, Ben!

You will be signing on a background artist. How many backgrounds does the story require?
I hear George Takai sounds a lot like Dark blade. Is that true?
I’d like to see a picture of you at work perhaps with Jeff or Fred or Eric etc.
I’d like to see a frame of the new improved storyboard with all the extra notes that Jeff suggested.

MooBeard: The Cow Pirate - He’s a cow-pirate. Cow-pirates rule!
Dood… just about everyone reading this blog is someone who has no idea what it’s like to work at Nickelodeon. How much of the storyboard is actually finished in a day’s work? What happens from the minute you enter the building ’til the time you leave? Is it really just drawing drawing drawing? Are you meeting some really cool Nick-people? Is Spongebob staring you in the face everywhere you look? Do you have major deadlines you’re trying to meet? Or is it more relaxed? Is everything orange and slime-green? I think people wanna hear the behind-the-scenes details you won’t even get from the dvd special features… Pretend the blog’s a “reality show” tracking the progress of a rookie cartoonist. Just tell us what’s going on in that place.

What Jay said. A month from now, I’m hoping to be in your shoes, so anything you can tell us to prepare us for the day is greatly appreciated. For instance, what’s the intended finish date? If Frederator is making a quantity of cartoons, it’s not likely they expect to finish them ALL Aug. 1, 2006. Do they expect to have yours done in one month? Three? Six?

Yes! Tell us everything! EVERYTHING!
One thing I definately want to know more about is the storyboarding process. How much does it have to do with the finished product, do you plan out every little movemnent in there or do other people (layout artists?…I don’t know) plan the details of the animation? How many panels does it take to plan out, say, a minute of animation? How detailed do the drawings need to be? etc etc

Anything about the voice-actor auditions would be neat.

Problem is, they didn’t happen yet. ^_^

So it’s going to have ninja duckies in it, eh?
On July 24th, 2005 at 12:00 am
Just one ninja ducky. I’ll explain that later.^_^

More requests for info: How are you handling the “intro?” Will you do like a Looney Tunes, with two card shots with title and credits and music playing? Or will you have something like the intro to “Fairly OddParents” where it tells the story in song with animation? Since it’s only seven minutes long, I didn’t know if there were any restrictions, requirements, or suggestions offered.
