Kyle Needs Your Help!

The network is a little worried that Sailor Bird’s current color scheme (#1 above) makes her look too much like Tweety. I made a few variations. Which one above do you folks like best? Any suggestions?

Well I looked up two kinds of parrots;
Scarlet Macaws
Amazon Parrots

see links

The Amazons all have principally a lime green color. The Macaws look like Superman’s pet bird! I like them!

So I’m thinking number 1 is still good for the Macaw look. Something based on #3 but with Amazon colors would be another choice.

I tried green, but it just made her look like an alien girl. I never intended for her to be an exotic bird since she’s supposed to be unlikely.

It’s all about #5 hands down.

A tough choice i must say. It would have to be between 2, 3 and 4. But I like 4 the most.

Kyle, #4 looks pretty good to me. I think that her sailor outfit works best when its blue.

3 or 5 are the most appealing to me.

Very nice site!

I like #4 the best…She looks bright and cartoony, and nothing like Tweety :)

Very nice site!

I like #5

Very interesting blog!

Call me individualistic. I like her in style # 2. Blue is defintely her color.

As I commented on your DA page- it has to be #1. The only resemblance to Tweety Bird is that they’re both yellow and they’re both birds.
*hits herself for using a stuffed Tweety Bird as her Lamaze focal point while in labor before giving birth to Kyle*

The sailor suit and Donald’s hat HAVE to be blue or the joke is lost. That leaves you with either a yellow birdie or something that compliments the blue suit.

I would say stick with #1. It’s not close enough to be confused with Tweety. Most fans would assume it’s an homage. And honestly, I confused her with Big Bird.

Heck with Tweety! Sailor Bird’ll leave her in the dust. (Do what you think works best Kyle.)

Do I really have that option in this case?

I think 5 looks kinda neat, but I’m partial to the original. ^_^

Good luck!

Hey Kyle:
I like that one over there!

Have you made a disision yet?

I’d love to help! But, it’s hard to choose color for one character and not see them in relation to the rest of your character line-up. So, people are really picking in the dark here. Repost and we can go to town.
: )

I like #3 the best, with #4 a close second.

Man, I gotta keep up with this blog… *bookmarks*

Oh yeah, as for my “professional” opinion, I also agree that Sailor Bird’s color scheme is remniscent of Tweety. Yeah, yeah, they’re both yellow, but she wears a dress, but still, the point stands and is a valid concern. Unfortunately, with being more “mainstream” you have to take into account “the lowest common denominator,” and there are probably A LOT of people who are going to think about Tweety, too. I know this was not your intention, but you really might want to consider changing her color scheme.

In the long run, people will remember Sailor Bird as YOUR crazy, wonderful creation, and not “that Tweety rip-off” (even though conceptially she’s totally different).

Just my two cents :D I can’t wait to see how this project comes along ^_^

Very nice site!

Kyle, this is your picture. We’ll only completely intrude if something’s a disaster, which, of course, MooBear is anything but…

“The network’s” comments are just that, observations you might want to take into account. Sometimes they have merit and are worth reacting too, sometimes not. Your call.

We went into business with you because we have faith in your creative judgement. Enjoy.

I would definitely go with #4.

Don’t forget that Tweety started out as pink, not yellow.
