Yeah, I think the pale yellow is the way to go. It's hard to come up with other colors to use for her feathers... if you make them red, you'd have to mess with the hair color, probably the bow too.

As it stands, I think she still has a bit of a Tweety structured face to her, but it's nothing very distracting.

Best of Luck with this!

Yep. You kept the blue, which you needed to do. The pale yellow is a good solution. My only concern would be getting her to "pop" from the backgrounds, that are also usually toned down colors.

The rest of her is so bright, I don't think it'll be a problem, especially considering the type of backgrounds I'll have. I'll get into this more when I have some of Craig Elliot's sweet backgrounds to show off, but rather than do flattish outlined backgrounds, I'm going for exaggerated form, realistically painted backgrounds like the ones in Hercules and Emperor's New Groove (both of which Craig has worked on). It's a lot easier to make characters read with backgrounds like that, I've always thought.

I didn't know you had your background artist all set-sounds like a good choice for what you want to achieve-I'm getting excited to see the finished product!

The paler yellow is great! I think it's a good choice, and a good compromise :) I know how difficult changes can be...you want to stay true to your heart, no matter what.

I like this version. It is sad to see the bright yellow change but this is far enough not to look like Tweety but close enough not to change Sailor Bird a lot.
