Explanation: Here’s 5 variations. If there’s a limit, my select 3 would be be numbers 1, 3 and 5.

I was inspired by many of the logos submitted in one way or another, but the ones I particularly liked were:
Andre Nieves
Also by Andre
Aaron Simpson
Adam Koford

The one I would refer would be Adam’s for really being ‘random’.

Logo name: Random02
Creator: Mike Lapinski
Explanation: Hello Logo Lad or Lassie,

This design was built up from the idea of the old train schedule board in NYC’s Penn Station. I imagine the letters animating as if they were scored in the middle and with the top piece flipping down to reveal each new letterform. I can hear the cascading clickety-click of them now.

The top two rows are just to emulate the effect of the animation and the bottom is what it eventually settles on.

In the open-source spirit of the competition, I included some of Andre Nieves wacky parts because they’re the cutest cartoon letters I ever did see.

Here goes:

Explanation: Hi Frederator Logo Maven,

Here’s a logo design based on hand-drawn letters from an original concept sketch.

I wanted to have the viewer’s eye bounce around with the thick and thin font variations and playful forms within an otherwise structural design.

Cheers.

Explanation: Dear Frederator,

I’ve attached a couple logos for the competition. I knocked ‘em out kinda quick (too much work to do)– hope you like em– or hope they inspire someone. Looking forward to the new cartoons.

Thanks for the great blog and the great cartoons over the years.
