Yeah, Popeye was a great hero. His motto was: “Treat ever’body right, but if they disrespecks ya, lay ‘em out in the swee’peas.” Bet if the one-eyed sailor saw how badly Cosmo treats Wanda he’d pound the little jerk into spinach-colored goo…then he’d go after the hack writers who thought a husband dropping an anvil on his wife and shooting torpedoes at her was funny. Arf-arf-arf!

Is there any record of who drew and animated the zoo animals? They are in complete contrast with sloppy tendencies I see in Fleischer characters.

Not sure who did the specific animation on the animals. By 1936, the studio had moved away from a lot of the rubber hose type character design on most of the extraneous characters…
