Unfortunately, my audio equipment is not currently set up for copying the 78s I have, but it wil be in a couple weeks, I hope. Do you want sound files to compare voices? So as not to tie up this board with irrelevant notes, can you be contacted via another route?

Which voices did Cliff Nazarro perform, and what's the source for the credit? Do you have a date for the recording session?

I thought you might be interested in his discography, from "The Complete Entertainment Discography" by Brian Rust with Allen G. Debus, Arlington House 1973. The book only goes up to 1942, so there may be later items.

He recorded for Harmony & Bluebird.
Harmony: a "dime store" label produced by Columbia. When Columbia commenced recoding electrically, they moved the old acoustic (horn)recording equipment into what sounds like a closet & used it for dime store labels even into 1930. The same item(s) may appear on other labels, such as Diva and/or Velvet-Tone, possibly under pseudonym(s).
Bluebird: RCA Victor's budget label. I have these, and they are hilarious. Nazarro is billed as "Jack Benny's Doubletalk Comedian" on B-10433.

Vocal, acc. by unknown piano.
New York, October 29, 1927
14210- Headin' For Louisville Har 59-H
14213- I Wonder Where My Baby Is Tonight?
Wow! Thanks for all the dope on Nazarro! I confess I know him primarily for his cartoon work. Don't have a recording date on this cartoon-both the IMDB and the Big Cartoon Data Base list "Hamateur Night" as a Cliff Nazarro credit. He is usually given credit for many of the Egghead cartoons. I kinda figured he did the nasal sounding voice of the emcee (although I stand ready to be corrected!) Avery, of course, is the laughing hippo.
