interesting that Felix is drinking in a cartoon from 1930, since prohibition didn’t end until 1933!

Over the years, that particular music track has been attached to dozens of old silent films — comedies mostly, but once I heard the very same rambling score accompanying a print of Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis!” By the way, there seems to be some confusion as to exactly when this cartoon was produced — 1928 or 1930. I’m thinking the earlier date sounds plausible.

The music seems to be blissfully oblivious to any action whatsoever on the screen.

Still, this would be a great PSA for raising awareness about chemical dependency. EXCESSIVE DRINKING MAY CAUSE BUILDINGS ON THE HORIZON TO REPEAT INDEFINITELY.

The tail end of this little jem illistrates a couple of euphemisms that I happen to be familiar with.
