The two agonists in our little melodrama, Sam and Conrad Canard. These past weeks I’ve been beating my initial storyboards into usable production boards with a lot of help from my director, Larry Leichliter. But before the wheels of industry get rolling too fast I should synopsize the humorous events that occur:

When Payton Shoemaker and his sister Maggie happen upon a pint-size version of Sasquatch — Little Bigfoot — a summer vacation in the woods becomes an adventure of mythical proportions. They befriend the tiny creature and name him Bilbo, only to realize (too late?) that the Largo Logging Co. is out to hunt him down. A family vacation becomes an adventure of a lifetime!

I am totally serious.

Love that style man. Great artwork. Is that digital art overlayed on top of a ralph’s grocery bag or did you draw directly onto a Ralphs bag? Either way it’s a really nice piece.

Thanks. Seeing as I’m hopelessly undigital, I drew this with pens and china marker and a sticker I found. The paper was this oddly-textured envelope from the UK. Mostly I liked it because of the postmark.

Well ur characters look amazing! And your backgrounds look amazing as well!! keep it up man! -Steve

Btw, is this show gonna be flash or traditionally animated? -Steve http://www.stephenstudios.com

Traditionally. With hand-carved pencils. While wearing suits.

“Little Bigfoot” was simply ahead of its time.

hey adam. good luck this summer. the drawings look great and… i’m really glad your blogging. if you need help when i get back, i’m all ears.

hi pat, this is pen. man adam’s cartoon is going to be great. Man Adam. THAT should be your blog name. not this Am crup. it sounds like a girls name. and Ambergris .. sheesh. tell me that word is not in your brain..

Hey, Pat. Thanks for the kind words and Bon Voyage. And could you tell Pen that “Am.” is a line from On the Road. And that “Ambergris” was the stuff of life in the whaling days of Nantucket … and so is probably a reference to Moby Dick. And, thus, both are literary references and . . . and shoot. I swear I had a point.

An Ode to Adam:

Adam’s extra-ordinary/
Even though he’s kinda scary/
If a rube peeks in his cube/
He’ll beat them with a dictionary/

….

DUDE! Your show is gonna be totally amazing. The only thing that sucks is that I dont get to work on it!

-Hirsch

Well, you might not work on it but you’re practically in it. That picture of you with the pith helmet and fire poker was the prototypical version of Conrad. It’s you, man. It’s YOU.
