Scripts Pro. Screenwriting for the iPhone/iPod Touch

February 7th, 2010

picture-31.png
Hey guys!

So it’s been awhile since my last post. I’ve been working hard on my latest project, a screen writing application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It took over 4 months to develop, was rejected 6 times before being accepted, but now it’s finally on iTunes! I created this app because (at the time there were no other apps for screenwriting and) I wanted to write my screenplays for my cartoons anywhere. Compared to my competitors, Scripts Pro is by far the easiest and most desktop-like screen writing experience for any mobile device. I hope you guys check out my app, could pass on the word, and find great use in using it! My application’s website is www.scriptsapp.com! On a side note, I didn’t code the app. I had collaborated with Wiselinc Technology to develop it. They did an AMAZING job!

I am SUPER excited to start monday! I signed up for 5 10-week traditional courses! I’m taking Acting For Animators, Figure Drawing, Character Design, Storyboard and Perspective. I wanted to a variety of different classes because while I’vebeen animating in flash, I want to get back to basics, so to speak. I’m really looking forward to the classes and being in California for 10 weeks and I’ll be blogging about my adventures! If anyone else is taking these courses drop me a line! Cali here I come! :)

**iPhone App Programmer Wanted**

July 27th, 2009

iphone-horizontal.jpg

Hello all

I’m looking for an iPhone programmer to help me bring my iPhone UI to life! I have created the entire UI in photoshop so you would just need to code it and create it. It’s a creative word processing type app but the details are hush hush at the moment. If anyone is interested or knows someone who will be able to help, drop me a line. Yes, there is a budget! Email me at stephenstudios ( at ) gmail ( dot ) com

Thanks!

Steve

p.s. and yes, it’s very much a CREATIVE app! :D

p.s.s. Image above is not my app.

Ace & Aqua redesigns…

June 15th, 2009

Hello! Long time since I’ve posted anything. Been a bit discouraged since my lack of acceptance into Cal Arts… Anyways, I’ve decided to give up animation.

C’mon, of course not. I’ve recently decided to re-design my Ace & Aqua characters. The new designs are much more natural cartoon drawings. The designs I had in my Ace & Aqua short were way too “perfect” and I wanted to have a design that felt natural and looked like the sketches I made, not the perfect vector clones I made over those sketches… I’m surprised at my progress. The drawings on the left are from 2006, the middle ones 2007 and the new ones 2009. I wonder what they’ll look like in 2011. The left and middle designs had a perfect 1 line around them so I decided to give something more natural and went with some tapered lines that surprisingly make a HUGE difference.  Too bad I didn’t have these designs for my first short… no need to despair ;)

Some unfortunate (non-deadly) news…

March 11th, 2009

picture-16.png

Hello everybody,

Yesterday I received an unfortunate letter in the mail. I didn’t get into CalArts. I would like to thank everyone who wrote me a letter of recommendation for taking their time out of their busy schedules to do so. A big thanks to Fred Seibert, Eric Homan, Gabriel Valles, Thomas E. Van Dell, Kat Kosmala and my animation teacher at school Mr.Karen.

While I didn’t get in, I’m not going to let it effect me too much. My plan B is to take the year off, go to life drawing classes religiously, continue freelancing, and try to get work in-studio in either NYC, CA or any other state with a job. Thanks again for everyone’s support, and I’ll be re-applying next year!

Yours Truly,

Steve

Age Compared Work

March 1st, 2009

Once upon a time in 7th grade I drew a dinosaur monster lizard thing. I looked at it and was soo proud of what I had drawn, I thought it was great. Fast forward 5 or 6 years and I decided to take another try at it. I wanted to see how I would have drawn the same exact character if I were to have come up with it today. picture-2.png

It’s amazing to see how my work has evolved over the course of 5 or 6 years. I can only imagine how my work will look in a few years!

Something different…websites?

I’ve only recently been doing some website design and coding, and it’s a far stretch from animation. It’s another area I’m dabbing my paintbrush in, and soo far it’s great! Above are two websites i created I hope you like them, and if you need a website, you know where to reach me! ;-)
