Talk to the Snail

Can you believe it? Finally, Nicktoons Network will show the last three un-aired Random! Cartoons — “Squirly Town”, “Fanboy”, and “Handycat” — we produced with Nick so many, many years ago (Winsor McCay was a layout artist on four of the shorts). What took so long, you ask? Well, a bunch of reasons, but for this last delay, you can blame Eric Robles. Once Fanboy and Chum Chum, the series, went into production, the network decided not to air the original “Fanboy” short before the series premiered and became as beloved by generations as it is today. While Eric’s been busy on his show, poor Doug TenNapel and G. Brian Reynolds and Russ Harris, whose shorts were completed in February 2007 and September 2006, will just now see their work on the teevee. Congratulations, guys, and sorry about the wait.

“Fanboy” airs Saturday at noon in the east, 9:00 a.m. in the west, as the kick-off to a Fanboy and Chum Chum marathon on Nicktoons Network. Then, all three cartoons can be seen on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. EST, 8:00 a.m. PST.
