Strayer's Business College
Shorpy

Hey, everyone. We’re going to be light in the posts for the next few days as our crack team of computer technologists (above) moves our blogging platform. This gives each and every one of us more time to enjoy the great outdoors a bit more than we have been.

Smell you later.

Rocko's Modern Life

You know, I’ve often wondered why Nickelodeon has never released the complete Rocko’s Modern Life on DVD. Besides being a huge influence on a generation of younger animators, the Joe Murray show gets an honorable mention if only for setting the creative stage for SpongeBob (going back seventeen years (!) now). More importantly, it’s really good. There’s now cause for celebration, though, as NetFlix has put up the first season’s twelve episodes, streaming right to your computer (or TV, if you’re that savvy). Frankly, I don’t know when these went up, but I’m glad I know now. For instant viewing, they’ve also got the first seasons of Angry Beavers, Real Monsters, Ren & Stimpy, and the Fairly OddParents (let’s hope ChalkZone and Teenage Robot aren’t far behind). Time for wallaby watching.

He’s Made of Glass, and He’s Full of Class

June 2nd, 2010

I’m always a little stunned when I step back and look at the amount of output from Mukpuddy, official Friends of Frederator. I wouldn’t be shocked if you told me they’ve turned out another cartoon or two by the time I finish typing this. Our favorite team of Kiwis is now working on a series of shorts called Lanky Lampton: A Silly Idea for the local New Zealand show, Studio 2 Live, about whom the Muks wrote, “gave us complete creative control to come up with a bunch of shorts about what ever we wanted.” I’ve seen four episodes including the bees one and the one about fizzy drinks. In a third, Lanky taught me the pop-up toaster was invented in 1919 by Charles Strite. My favorite short, so far, is the dog one above. Nice job, as always, fellas. Whatever, Trevor.
