Bob Boyle Stops by Vroman’s

May 18th, 2010

Were you lucky enough to hang out with Bob Boyle at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena last weekend? If you were, you got to watch him draw Wubbzy as well as hear him read from his latest books, Hugo and The Joy of Math. If you weren’t, watch the very compressed version of the event above. Bob’s able assistant you see in the film is Mr. Warburton of Code Name: Kids Next Door mega-fame.

And when you’re through watching this video, go buy a copy of Hugo (or another one, as the case may be). (Oh, and Mr. Warburton’s own book, 1000 Times No, while not as essential as The Joy of Math, may be bought here.)

Yo!), Bob’s always wanted to publish his own kids’ books. Today, Random House and Bolder Books for Boys and Girls release his brand new book, Hugo and the Really, Really, Really Long String. Congratulations, Bob. This one’s been a long time coming.

Wubbzy World Autism Awareness Day

February 20th, 2009

In a partnership with Autism Speaks, Bob Boyle’s Wubbzy is on board to promote World Autism Awareness Day on April 2 in an effort to help increase awareness of the condition as a global health crisis.

Wubbzy will be front and center in a series of TV and web banner PSAs from Autism Speaks and the Ad Council. He’ll also featured on the website Walk with Wubbzy which provides ideas on how to celebrate WAAD in communities and drive donations. The walk takes place in more than 75 communities in the US, Canada, and UK. Last year’s walk raised more than $40,000.
