Greetings Yaki and Yumi fans! So, when I was a kid I used to stay in the ocean as long as I could stand it, and swim with my legs squished together… hoping and praying that they would turn into a mermaid tail and I could swim away! My wish came true today, except I am at an animation studio instead of the deep blue sea…ah well, at least I finally have that tail, just in time for halloween!!
Yumi had just about enough after Yaki went on for four hours about how everyone at last night’s Nickelodeon screening CLEARLY liked him SO much better than Yumi. Even a meditative, and spiritually evolved dragon, such as herself can take so much!!
Yaki and Yumi’s creator, Aliki Theofilopoulos was seen over the weekend modeling her wedding dress..I am sure her finace will enjoy the fact that it was made out of toilet paper. Neither Yaki, nor Yumi were available for comment.
Okay..so this sticker was thrown together late last night, in the hopes of doing some promoting at Comicon, since I cannot be there this year. I have no idea how to build sites, but Jun, Yaki and Yumi’s esteemed director, was nice enough to load some stuff up so that people can at least find their way to the blog. Thank you Jun, and thank you Stickerguy.com!
“Yaki and Yumi”’s beloved art director, Paul Stec, needs your support. His very sweet and spirited son, Fyn has been diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer. The people of Cartoon Network are hosting a silent auction to raise money to help the Stec family with the medical expense involved in saving their son. This is a win/win situation for anyone who can help..not only will you get to own a piece of art from some of the greatest artists in our industry, but you will get to help a very special 5 year old.
Online preview: April 17-19 *you are able to bid online during this time if you are out-of-town Auction event: Thursday, April 20 from 5-9pm (bidding ends at 8pm) @ Cartoon Network Studios :: 300 North 3rd Street in Burbank

The title cards are completed, and they look great! I did the drawing, and my very talented friend, Aman Chaudhary did the geinius coloring job. You can check out more of Aman’s work at www.redmask.com or read his blog at www.aman-about-town.com.
For those who do not know, a title card is the first thing your audience will see before your show starts. This is where the main credits will also run. In our case, they will read “created and storyboarded by, Aliki Theofilopoulos, then, directed by, Jun Falkenstein” At the end of the show, there will be a “The End” card as well.
Lastly, I need to say something about how amazing the music is for Yaki and Yumi! We sat down with our composer, Shawn Patterson on Friday and watched the scored show, and it was absolutely phenomenal!! He RAWKS!
